Bubbles Popped: 5
Kent State, Mid-American: It's extremely unlikely the MAC will receive two bids this year. With Kent State's loss last night, there RPI is now beyond repair. SUNY Buffalo is the MAC's lone shot at an at-large now, and they remain a distant long-shot at that.
Northwestern, Big Ten: The lone power conference school to never make the NCAA Tournament will be keeping that dubious distinction for at least one more season.
Auburn, SEC: The SEC is loaded with schools that are all about one loss away from seeing any tenable dream of an at-large dashed. Even a win over Kentucky isn't going salvage the season for the schools at the bottom of the SEC.
Marquette, Big East: Marquette put together an impressive season, with some good wins in the first year of the post-Buzz Williams Era. If they finish above .500, they should get a hard look from the NIT.
Mississippi State, SEC: This has been a long time coming, but until last nights loss, an at-large wasn't a mathematical impossibility.
