Bubbles popped: 3
Austin Peay (2-5), Ohio Valley Conference
It's all over for AP. Win the conference tournament, or watch on tv with the rest of us.
St. Francis NY, (1-5), Northeast Conference
They should have the personal to win a good number of games in the Northeast Conference, but an at-large bid is no longer a possibility.
Stetson (2-5), Atlantic Sun
The remaining schedule is too weak to warrant an at-large look.
Four results worth mentioning:
Illinois 62, Baylor 54
A match-up of 5-0 teams saw Illinois walk away, and now sport an impressive 6-0 resume. I didn't think much of Illinois before the start of the season, but they now have to be taken seriously as a team that will vie for a top four finish in the Big Ten.
Delaware State 72, Wake Forest 65
Things just keep going from bad to worse for Danny Manning and the Decons.
N.C. State 60, Boise State 54
While this win doesn't completely legitimize the Wolfpacks' unbeaten record, it is far and away their best victory, and one that could have some shelf life going forward, as Boise is still expected to be a factor in the Mt. West race.
Miami 87, South Alabama 75
Beating South Alabama is not in and of itself all that impressive. But the Cane's 7-0 record that includes a win at Florida is the kind of foundation that high seeds in the NCAA Tournament are built on.
