Four results worth mentioning:

Tenn-Martin 115, Champion Baptist 29
There are around 350 division one men's basketball programs.  And about half of them feel the need to go outside of division one for non-conference games.  For smaller schools, I get it, I really do.  Why Minnesota does, I don't.  I don't really have a problem with UT-Martin padding their record with a game or two like this.  I do have a problem with the score.  This is absurd, and shame on UT-Martin.  Sadly, their schedule is pathetic, and it's look unlikely anyone will be able to return the favor.

Savannah State 59, Winthrop 58
Winthrop came into this game at 2-0, with a win over Clemson already under their belt.  Savannah State came in at 0-2.  The transitive property is obviously not the end all, be all, but none the less, Clemson fans can't feel good about this result.

Boston College 69, New Mexico 65
The Lobos lost their leading scorer thus far this season (Cullen Neal) early in the second half, but this result is still a bit of a head scratcher.  Noodles squad figured to vie for an at-large berth and at least be a factor in the Mt. West race.  Boston College just hopes to win a couple games in the ACC.  Coach Neal is already under pressure from a fan base in Albuquerque tired of NCAA Tournament let downs (obviously not all on Neal's watch), but an NIT season will do nothing to soothe tensions.

Akron 66, Southern Cal 46
The Zips have a growing buzz around them, and may well challenge EMU in the MAC.  I think it's prudent to take a wait and see approach with them.  USC on the other hand, is pretty clearly a terrible basketball team at this point in the season.
